We forge personal relationships to understand our clients’ needs and ensuring designs exceed expectations. We explore, test and co-create practical designs against current Planning Policy and carefully consider the technical building standards at an early stage, to ensure approvals are gained first time.

James GaveyMCIAT

Founder/Director

James entered the construction industry to study Architectural Technology in 2002 and graduated from London South Bank University with First Class Honours in 2010. James established JG Architecture in early 2013 and has built up comprehensive Planning experience for new build dwellings, listed building upgrades, residential development, commercial office fit-outs and retail projects locally, as well as design schemes for leisure facilities in Europe.

A Chartered Architectural Technologist, James guides the JGA team ensuring highly focused design and building solutions, retains clear pre-construction phases for clients and maintains an honest and responsive service across the board.

Outside of JGA, James loves leisure time with his young family, is passionate about golf or catching up on sport generally and also takes a keen interest in interior design trends and new building material developments.

Miles PengelleyMCIAT

Associate Director

Miles joined JG Architecture in 2016 and soon completed a BSc in Architectural Technology graduating through London South Bank University with First Class Honours. Miles brings meticulous planning to our design and construction methods and has great skill in realising a client brief, often exceeding expectations. Having entered the construction industry in 2008, Miles has focused experience with domestic extensions, conversions and residential projects. Each of these traits contributed to Miles’ selection as The Construction Industries ‘Aspiring Star’ at the 2018 Construction Awards.

In his downtime, Miles enjoys spending time eating out with his wife, friends and family. As well as getting stuck into DIY around the house, he is also a keen sportsman, captaining Sylvans football Priaulx team. In fact, Miles will turn his hand to most sports with a competitive approach, no matter how social the sport.

Dan TibbsACIAT

Senior Architectural Technician

Dan joined the JGA team in July 2017 following the completion of his A-Levels at the Guernsey Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre. From previous experience at a local architectural practice and working at the Planning Department, Dan has gained some valuable knowledge for a career in architecture. Dan has completed the Construction & The Built Environment apprentice scheme locally and is now looking to complete a degree in Architectural Technology.

As well as his love for 3D design in the studio, Dan enjoys spending his time with his family and friends, watching football and sport in general and keeping his fitness levels up in the gym.

Monique Michel

Architectural Technician/Interior Designer

Monique joined JGA in February 2021 as an Architectural Technician/Interior Designer. Since 2018, she has completed her apprenticeship in Construction & The Built Environment and a B.A (Hons) in Interior Design through Staffordshire University.

Monique is a talented team player and brings valuable experience and skills to our creative studio, having worked on many domestic and commercial projects locally. She possesses an eye for detail, interior design focus, critical thinking and creative flair.

Outside of work Monique enjoys resin art, watercolor painting, baking sweet treats and getting out to do some cycling.

Lewis Oliver

Lewis Oliver

Architectural Technician / 3D Rendering Designer

Lewis joined JGA in April 2022 as an Architectural Technician / 3D Rendering Designer. With a Higher National Diploma at Anglia Ruskin University and also previous experience at a local surveying & architecture practice, Lewis brings a wealth of experience within commercial and domestic projects to the JGA studio. In addition, Lewis has a keen interest in 3D visualisations which JGA are keen to develop further within his new role.

Outside of work Lewis enjoys spending time with family & friends. Through the summer months, Lewis is a key player for the Jazz Hats Cricket Club. He also enjoys gaming, watching football, cricket, F1, well any sport that’s on really!

Martin Savident

Architectural Technician

Martin joined JGA in November 2020 as a Trainee Architectural Technician. He left Grammar School Sixth Form in 2018 after completing his A-levels and went on to study ‘Construction & The Built Environment’ at the Guernsey College of Further Eduction.

Outside of work, Martin enjoys playing football and is a key player for the Guernsey Rovers AC Priaulx football team. He also enjoys running, boxing and generally keeping fit.

Danny Lewis-Gallienne

Trainee Architectural Technician

Danny joined in September 2023 after completing his A Levels in Art, Design Technology and Business Studies at Elizabeth College. He is also studying at the College of Further Education undertaking the Construction and the Built Environment Level 3 course.

Outside of work Danny enjoys football and socialising.

Hana Fox

Junior Architectural Technician

Hana joined JGA in May 2024 with previous experience from a local Architectural practice. Prior to this, Hana studied Art & Design as well as Level 3 ‘Construction & The Built Environment’ at the College of Further Education. Hana is now in the process of completing her Higher Diploma. Hana has an interest in Biodiversity and garden landscaping.

Outside of work Hana has a fondness for all things car related and also a good meat draw on a Friday night so we know she will fit into JGA very well!

Jude Gavey

Jude

Trainee Barkitectural Technician

Locally trained, predominantly in demolition for the past 10 weeks, Jude is the ultimutt hire, having made a drastic improvement in this pawticular field. Unleashing a wealth of site experience to JGA, especially in roofing, he has certainly hit the ground bouncing establishing a very colLABorative approach with the design team and they are certainly having a ball working together.

Although yet to retrieve his full qualifications, Jude will develop his skills on ArchiLAB and will be sure to paws on welcoming clients and colleagues into the studio.
