The single storey timber frame extension at La Petite Ferme is progressing well on-site.
We were appointed to design a modern style flat roof extension to the front of this traditional two-storey granite house. Careful consideration was taken through the Planning stage to ensure a successful application which has now allowed our client to significantly improve their living spaces.
Large amounts of glass to the front elevation will flood natural light into the new kitchen and dining spaces. From back to front, openings have been lined to link the living space directly with a terrace that will step up towards the lawned garden and create a fine space for entertaining.
The new addition will be clad externally in larch horizontal boarding and left to weather allowing an impressive combination with the existing granite dwelling.
The roof-lights, windows and doors have now been installed. External wall battens fixed in place and the curved retaining wall has been constructed.
This will be a stunning addition to a beautiful traditional dwelling.
