La Haye Du Puits

New Builds

Our client’s brief was to provide an outbuilding to store their classic car collection.

Our design focus was to complement the character and charm of the existing property while providing a highly functional space that lived up to the classic cars themselves.

Once JGA had secured all of the relevant permissions, the project was managed privately, The main structure of the outbuilding was supplied by a UK-based oak frame company, with groundworks being completed locally.

The outbuilding features an independent oak frame, with weathered timber posts and beams. The structure is clad in horizontal timbers in a shiplap style, which, combined with a pitched slate roof, creates a classic aesthetic that blends into its natural setting. At the apex of the gable, a black and gold cupola serves as a distinct focal point, reinforcing the traditional character of the building.

The facade is split into three bays using garage doors, finished in wood-effect uPVC that enhances the natural warmth of the timber frame. Each door features upper glazing panels, allowing light to filter into the interior while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. Rustic, wrought-iron lanterns frame the structure, adding a subtle period touch.

Inside, the outbuilding is a haven for classic car enthusiasts. The internal walls are clad in pine, complemented by a low brick plinth, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfectly suited for housing our clients’ prized car collection.
