We’re delighted to have received planning permission for extensions and refurbishment at Rocque A’Lor.
“The proposal represents a high standard of architectural design with the varied roof forms and layout of the extension which helps to reduce its overall scale and mass”
The contemporary two storey extensions were designed to be subservient to the main farmhouse with careful thought towards a contrasting palette of materials. A whole new layout of accommodation has been considered to ensure good flow from the main house, the existing barns and through to a large, west-facing family room.
“The scheme incorporates a ground floor bedroom and bathroom which will offer flexible and adaptable accommodation that can respond to people’s needs over time”
A key part of the brief was to retain the enclosed nature of the amenity space. The staggered extension design along with improving site levels will form a large courtyard which floods with late afternoon/evening sunlight.
An exciting project that will blend contemporary design with the restoration of the main dwelling Rocque A’Lor.
