As we look back on 2025, we’re proud to celebrate a year defined by growth, collaboration, community engagement and award-winning design. From new team members to project successes and continued investment in local talent, JG Architecture has continued to strengthen its role within Guernsey’s built-environment sector.
Below is a look at some of our highlights from an exciting and productive year.
New Website Launched
This year we unveiled our brand-new website — a cleaner, more responsive platform that better reflects who we are and the projects we deliver. The refreshed structure and visuals now provide an improved window into our portfolio, values and approach, making it easier for clients and partners to engage with us and explore the full breadth of our work.

Welcoming a New Chartered Architect
We were delighted to welcome a new RIBA Chartered Architect, Mike McLellan, to the JGA team. His experience, creativity and passion for thoughtful design have already added fresh insight to our studio. As our workload and ambitions grow, so does the importance of building a strong, talented team capable of delivering at the highest level.

Supporting Local Talent & Skills Development
Miles Pengelley Promoted to Director
A major internal milestone this year was the promotion of Miles to Director. His dedication, leadership and continued commitment to the growth of JG Architecture have been instrumental to the development of the practice. This promotion recognises the significant role he plays in detailing our projects, strengthening client relationships and supporting the wider team.
Apprentice Completes Year 2 at the Guernsey Institute
Our apprentice, Danny Lewis-Gallienne, successfully completed Year 2 of his apprenticeship this year — an important milestone in his development and an achievement we’re incredibly proud of. Investing in young talent is essential to the future of our industry, and we are committed to supporting pathways that help young people enter the architectural and construction sector.
School Visits During Careers Week & Attendance at Careers Show
We continued our outreach efforts this year with school visits during Careers Week and attendance at a local careers show. Sharing what it’s like to work in architecture, planning and construction helps inspire young people to consider careers in our industry — and it strengthens our link to the next generation of designers, technicians and tradespeople.

Strengthening Industry Ties
Joining the Guernsey Building Trades Employers Association (GBTEA)
A major milestone this year was becoming a member of the Guernsey Building Trades Employers Association. Joining GBTEA reinforces our commitment to quality, collaboration and engagement with the wider construction community. It also provides opportunities to share knowledge, foster good practice and contribute to positive industry development across the island.

Award-Winning Project Recognition
Multi-Residential Scheme Wins at the Property & Construction Awards
One of the standout achievements of 2025 was our multi-residential development receiving the Best Multi-Residential Project award at the Guernsey Property & Construction Awards. This recognition highlights the hard work, design sensitivity and collaboration behind the project — and we’re incredibly proud to see it celebrated within the industry.

Projects That Support Our Community
Completion of “The Farm Shop”
This year saw the completion of “The Farm Shop”, a local project where we supported the design and planning approvals for a new retail space serving the community. Delivering projects that enrich local life is central to our mission, and this development is a great example of architecture supporting small businesses and local produce.
Progress on the Frossard Ward at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital
We continued our involvement in the development of the Frossard Ward at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. Healthcare environments require careful, user-focused design, and we are proud to contribute our expertise to a project that will directly benefit the island’s residents and young patients.

A Growing Pipeline
Housing Units Approved
Following the successful completion of the 23-unit Les Bas Courtils development early in the year, 2025 saw continued momentum in residential design and planning. This year we secured approval for 35 additional residential units across a number of development sites, along with several private new builds, bringing our total to over 50 housing units approved or constructed across 2025. This activity reflects strong confidence in our design approach and highlights the ongoing demand for thoughtfully designed, high-quality housing solutions in Guernsey.

Celebrating Personal Achievements
Alongside our collective successes, 2025 was also a year of proud personal milestones across the JGA team. James and Miles both made significant progress on their own home extension projects — applying the same design thinking and attention to detail that they bring to our clients’ work. Lewis successfully completed the Guernsey Half Marathon, demonstrating great commitment and determination. Martin continued his journey toward becoming a Chartered Architectural Technologist, further strengthening his professional expertise. Mike took on an incredible challenge by competing in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers sailing race — an impressive feat of endurance and adventure. And Monique continued her travels around the world, exploring much of South America and broadening her cultural and creative perspectives. These individual achievements highlight the passion, dedication and drive that each member of our team brings both inside and outside the studio.

Looking Ahead to 2026
2025 has been a year of progress and meaningful milestones for JG Architecture — defined by team growth, impactful community projects and industry recognition. As we move into 2026, we look forward to continuing to expand our capabilities, deliver high-quality architecture across Guernsey, and contribute positively to the island’s built environment.
Thank you to our clients, partners, and community for your ongoing support. Here’s to another inspiring year ahead.
